MY STORY

Heartfelt Art by Bruce is born out of a combination of my education, training and experience, which allows my perspective as an artist to remain traditional yet contemporary.

Through my journey as an artist there have been many times of frustration while learning a variety of different techniques.

What I’m proud of is my ability to conquer the dragons I have encountered on my art journey. By doing so, I feel I’ve grown as an artist. Also, being opened minded to learn new things and improve on my style and technique has allowed me to achieve a high quality in my art.

For a while, I just did art for me. However, as I grew in my abilities and began to transform other's photos into art, I realized the valuable contribution that artists can make in the world.

I'm honored to be published in a variety of international publications.

-Published in "how To Draw Your Dog", a Home Study Art Course that raised funds  so that soldiers could be reunited with the pets they fell in love with in the war zone in Afghanistan.  Drawing "Soldiers Best Friend"

INSIGHTS INTO MY ART

I enjoy drawing from photos that show love, endearment, interaction between people, the response of people to their pets and how animals nurture their young. I like heartfelt scenes that move people-that evokes a positive emotion when they view my art.

Behind each memory there is a story- knowing these stories inspire me to draw, helping to freeze those precious moments for you in time. Then each time you look at your art, the movies will rewind so you can relive that magic moment all over again.

It is through my art that I want to help create a legacy for you that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Below are some examples of my inspirations created from precious moments using a variety of media to bring out the best in the drawing.

WORK IN PROGRESS

See Me at Work

Each year, my work grows and evolves into something bigger, more interesting, and better. As an artist, there is no greater pleasure for me than finding genuine growth and improvement in my projects. As I have grown and matured, so has my art. Below are some of the pieces in progress that I recently created in my studio.

I invite you to go to my Facebook page to see the life of an artist, what's happenings in my art journey and a look behind the scenes of an artist. I'll show you what I'm working on;how a drawing goes from start to finish; how I choose the right color pencils and much more

FRENCHIE PUPS

This is a work in progress showing the application of colored pencil to a recent drawing. The tonal paper is Sand which is a very soft grey. The grey not only adds a softness to the drawing, it also helps to make the pups stand out.

THREE GENERATONS

This is a precious memory for this family. It was their first time seeing snow. All bundled up, grandmother, mom and son ventured out into the snow. What fun making snow balls, going sledding, and making snow angels. The memory will always be remembered each time they look at this drawing.

ARTIST AT WORK

In my Heartfelt Art studio, I have all the essentials to help me produce quality art. Lighting is a key factor. I use two light sources that give me natural lighting. This type of lighting helps me see the true colors as I apply them to the paper.

"Before a child talks they sing. Before they write they draw. As soon as they stand they dance. Art is fundamental to human expression"
